Today's little triathlon journey

They call it a "brick": at least two of the three sports done consequetively, with at most about fifteen minutes between.

Today was swim + bike. So I swam out at Aquatic Park (about 1.5 miles, 40 minutes in the water), then hopped on the bike and did a Golden Gate Bridge to Nicasio out-and-back trip (about 55 miles, 3:45 ride time). The bike portion involved probably eight climbs, and my left knee really started to complain on the second-to-last, so I had to take it slower after that. Still, it's a beautiful ride, one I'd never done before, and I had a lot of fun riding with my friend Kelly, who is a way more experienced cyclist. The weather was absolutely gorgeous: sunny, cool, only a few headwinds. When we returned to the GG Bridge we were treated to the sight of the billowy fog blowing onto Alcatraz.

An amazing day...
