2006 Turkey Beach Trot
I ran the
Turkey Beach Trot 2006 on Thanksgiving morning with my friend Helen. What a fun race! It had about 10% of the wackiness of Bay to Breakers, with people dressed up like classic Pilgrims and Indians. It also had a lot of serious runners who ran at amazing speeds over the loose sand (unpacked, this year).

There were about 750 runners overall who ran the roughly 6-mile course. I say roughly because there was some confusion as to what the course actually was-- people chose to run wherever they pleased. If they got tired of the sand on the return route, they'd run on the sidewalk for a while.
Anyhow, it was a great way to spend Thanksgiving morning.
